All remote management of Clavister CorePlus™ devices, including configuration, monitoring and even complete firmware upgrades, can be
performed from the Clavister FineTune™ management tool, and is secured through 128-bit encryption and authentication.
Failsafe checks employed by the system prevent an erroneous configuration from halting CorePlus™ or locking out the administrator. These design choices help to ensure that a Clavister CorePlus™ deployment provides the lowest total cost of ownership.
All Clavister CorePlus™ configurations are centrally archived for security reasons. This also provides the possibility to replace a running Clavister CorePlus™ device in just a few minutes. Furthermore, revision history is kept for entire configurations, giving the administrator the opportunity to rollback to any prior version since the deployment of the device.
Thanks to the unique namespace concept in Clavister FineTune™, devices may be grouped together and share common parameters. Therefore, changes affecting multiple devices may be deployed with a minimum of administrative efforts. Clavister CorePlus™ supports a large number of other grouping possibilities to keep the security policies as simple as possible. IP networks, device interfaces and services may be grouped in order to simplify configuration of large and complex networks.
Clavister FineTune™ includes tools for graphically monitoring device status parameters as well as extensive monitoring of network traffic.
Log data is sent from Clavister CorePlus™ devices to one or more log receivers, which can be either Clavister Logger™ software or common syslog receivers. Logging is highly configurable in Clavister CorePlus™, and the level of details can vary from simple summaries to detailed packet dumps.
Log data can then be analyzed using the advanced log analyzer tool integrated in Clavister FineTune™. Log data may also be exported using text format to any third-party application, such as Microsoft Excel or SQL server, for further analysis. Command line utilities that can perform remote management and log querying are available for Microsoft Windows™ and a number of Unix platforms.
