What is your role?

I am a test engineer with the added responsibility of publishing our software to the customers.

How long have you been with Clavister?

I joined Clavister on Nov 7, 2005.

Can you describe your role?

My work contains a lot of different tasks. My main work is to test the software on our hardware models. This software is developed here in Örnsköldsvik HQ. I verify that the functionality comply to the requirements and for every new major software release I learn how to set up and test new features that have been added. Moreover, I test the performance of the different hardware models that we sell. When all testing is done I also create firmware packages for the customers to use, and publish them on our website.

What's it like working at Clavister?

Every day is filled with a lot of laughs. We have a lot of young and fun people from all over the world working here and we work very closely together so we get the feeling of being a big family with sisters and brothers. Since we strive towards the same goal we have a good cooperation between eachother. Our office right next to the sea gives us a nice view, and especially in the summer we benefit highly of this view.

Education?

Bachelor's of Computer Science, Umeå University. Master's in Chemistry Engineering, Umeå University. One semester of English and half a semester of German, Umeå Univerisity.

How has your education helped in your job?

My computer networks education is more or less exactly what I work with, so this has been very valuable when testing TCP/IP and connecting networks to send traffic for testing. In addition to this the company language is English, so studying English helps every day. Since I am responsible for writing a lot of test and release documentation, I can feel confident that my writing is correct thanks to my studying English. In addition to this, we have sales offices and customers in Germany, so thanks to my German studies I feel more confident communicating with them in German as well as in English.

What do you prefer to do when you are not working?

In my spare time I like exercising and watch sports on TV. For instance I train karate in the cold part of the year, and in the summer I like to go jogging. Here in the High Coast area we have plenty of great locations where we can enjoy nature for recreational purposes, either for training or just to charge our batteries with the soothing places. When I don't exercise myself I am a huge fan of WTA tennis, alpine skiing and MotoGP, so those are sports I like to watch on TV whenever I get the chance.
