Clavister, a leader in high-performance cybersecurity solutions, today announces the availability of thecOS Stream v3.30 software, designed to protect new virtual infrastructures at mobile and fixed operators.
Network Operation Centers at Communication Service Providers require secure remote access to the equipment and services deployed in the network. Configured with SSL-VPN, SSL Inspection and an Intrusion Prevention System the security VNF provides perimeter security as well as secure access to selected resources.
The release features highlights are as follows:
SSL VPN Server – Provides secure remote access supporting standard clients based on OpenVPN. The product supports strong encryption including AES-128-GCM and AES-256-GCM and provides optimized performance running over UDP supporting hardware-acceleration of cryptographic functions through AES-NI.
SSL Inspection- Threats hidden by encryption can now be identified by the use of SSL inspection providing server threat protection even when accessed via HTTPS. The functionality is specifically designed for networks with high performance requirements and multi-core environments.
Carrier Grade NAT64 – The address translation mechanism for IPv6/IPv4 has been enhanced to also support NAT pools, enabling Carrier Grade NAT with IPv6/IPv4 address translation.
IPS Scan limitation – The IPS feature has been extended to support the option to stop scanning a data session after a configurable number of bytes with a default value of 800 bytes resulting into improved performance while still maintaining a high security level.
SNMPv3 Poll – The security for SNMP Poll requests/responses has been enhanced to support authentication and encryption of data by the use of SNMPv3.
“This new release significantly helps Communication Service Providers in their challenge to secure the next generation virtualized core networks.” says Stefan Brodin, Commercial Solution Manager at Clavister. “Clavister’s security solution for Communication Service Providers provides a range of use-cases for core-network deployment including Gi-Firewalling, Carrier Grade NAT, Access Backhaul Encryption and Roaming & IMS domain security and with this updated version they can further consolidate network functions into fewer nodes—reducing costs and simplifying networks.”
