Data center and large scale customers get topnotch detection and blocking of malicious IPs as – well as improved DoS intervention with Webroot partnership. Healthier gross margins on existing Clavister revenue expected
Clavister (Nasdaq: CLAV), a leader in high-performance virtual security solutions, is proud to announce that it will complement its powerful enterprise line and virtual range with the highly-accurate Webroot BrightCloud ® IP Reputation Service which uncovers malicious incoming IP addresses within users’ IT infrastructure and delivers actionable threat intelligence. Webroot is the market leader in next-generation endpoint security, network security, and threat intelligence. DoS attacks are estimated to cost companies USD2.5 million (according to web analytics firm Neustar) to mitigate once they’ve successfully attacked a network. This enables BrightCloud Threat Intelligence Services to alert Clavister customers of suspicious activities as they happen and provides detailed contextual information on each malicious IP so incident response teams can quickly investigate threats before they lead to costly data theft.
Additionally, the new technology – which is well suited to create so called Indicators of Compromise (IoCs) – is relevant in the context of the new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) directives which currently are a major driver for investments in security products. This will allow Clavister products to become more competitive, and as its price is part of the new NFGW service bundle, it will have a positive impact of both our gross margin and revenue.
“We’re very excited at the chance to offer possibly the world’s best regarded IP reputation service to our customers. The addition of the next-generation threat intelligence provided through Webroot adds yet another layer of defense against cyberattacks, enhancing security,” explains Mattias Nordland, Clavister product manager enterprise.
“In an attempt to bypass security defenses, attackers change hosts and IP addresses multiple times a day,” said Chad Bacher, senior vice president of product strategy and technology alliances at Webroot. “As a result, enterprises struggle to determine which IP addresses are active threats to their organization. Enterprises using Clavister NGFW powered by the BrightCloud IP Reputation Service can augment their existing security response solution to quickly identify and block potentially dangerous IP traffic, minimizing the opportunity for attackers.”
