Training & Certifications

Technical training is one of the most important activities that you can engage in. It gives you a deep understanding of your Clavister products and services, and it enables you to take full advantage of all the important features. We have developed a number of training courses and certifications to give you the best possible knowledge and show you how to get the most out of your Clavister equipment.

Core Certifications

Clavister offers a wide range of technical courses and certifications. People who want to delve deeper into Clavister products and services can now extend their knowledge and become a certified Clavister Core Technician. The Core Certifications consists of three levels: Clavister Core Foundation (CCF), Clavister Core Advanced (CCA) and Clavister Core Expert (CCE). Each of these certifications build on the previous one. You start by taking the CCF certification before starting on the CCA certification. The final and most desirable certification is the CCE. Then you can call yourself a true Clavister Expert.

Clavister Core Foundation

The Clavister Core Foundation (CCF) is the first of three Core Certification levels. The CCF certification ensures that the certified have a good foundation to use the Clavister cOS Core based systems, to pass the CCF you need to take and pass the following courses and course certifications:

Clavister Core Advanced

The Clavister Core Advanced (CCA) is the second level of Core certifications. The CCA certification ensures that the certified have a very good understanding and knowledge of Clavister cOS Core based systems in more advanced and complex network solutions, to pass the CCA you need to take and pass the following courses and course certifications:

Clavister Core Expert

The Clavister Core Expert (CCE) is the highest level of Core certifications. The CCE certification ensures that the certified have expert knowledge of the Clavister cOS Core based systems and can set up and maintain very complex network solutions, to pass the CCE you need to take and pass the following courses and course certifications:

Certification

After completing each training course you will have the opportunity to take an exam and get your certification. The exam is web based and will take about two hours to complete. For each exam you pass you will receive a certificate that states your proficiency in the training course you just completed. It is also possible to purchase additional certification events in case you need to re-take the exam.

Once you have passed one Clavister Core Certification you will receive an additional Clavister Core Certification (see example).

The Clavister Core Certification is valid for 36 months from the first certification date within that Core Certification. For example, if you have a passed all courses for the CCF and the oldest course certification is 2012-10-01 your CCF will be valid until for 36 months from that date, in this case 2015-10-01.

Course Formats

We have three different methods of delivering technical training:

  • Instructor-Led Online courses
  • Onsite at Clavister’s premises (Clavister HQ or any of our offices world-wide)
  • Onsite at customer’s premises

In all formats, you will benefit from the trainer’s expert knowledge; you will do in-depth hands-on exercises, and have access to our comprehensive training material. The trainer will be able to see your LabPC’s desktop and assist you with the exercises if needed.

We usually try to limit the number of participants to eight (8) for the best possible learning experience, but bigger groups can be supported if it is agreed with Clavister and the trainer.

Instructor-Led Online courses

Instructor-Led Online (ILO) courses offer a convenient way to participate in our courses. We offer a wide range of courses at regular intervals with a minimum of preparations.
Lab environment

Benefits

  • Instructor with whom you can interact and ask questions
  • Uses the same course material as the onsite courses
  • Hands-on labs reinforce the concepts learned
  • No travel time or costs
  • The student can either participate from the regular office or from home
  • Specific time zones (outside of CET) can be supported per agreement
  • Environmental-friendly - reduces carbon emission (CO2)
  • Modest connectivity requirements let you participate from almost anywhere (Clavister have had participants from most continents)
  • Thin client implementation for easy system preparation

Course Perparations

In order to participate in one of our ILO courses, you need to prepare your training environment. This preparation includes setting up the VNC client and verifying access to our training server.
In the VNC client each participant will have access to one LabPC and one Clavister VSG (Virtual Security Gateway) in which they do the hands-on training exercises. The trainer will also connect to the LabPC so he can follow the progress of each student and assist if necessary.

Requirements

  • Computer with Internet connection capable of running VNC to Clavister HQ in Sweden. Recommended downlink speed is minimum 0.5 Mbps per student (all the way to the server).
  • A computer with two screens: One for displaying the training slides (usually via Webex) and one for doing the online exercises in the VNC client.
