Clavister Joins New RISE National Cybersecurity Node To Influence Scandinavian and EU Cybersecurity Matters

Örnsköldsvik, Sweden, 3 December 2020. Clavister, a leader in high-performance cybersecurity solutions, has been invited in as a member of the newly created National Node project, an initiative who’s aim is to create a new infrastructure of cybersecurity innovation, advice and strategy to help develop Swedish cybersecurity.

To support development in business and the public sector, VINNOVA and RISE—two agencies tasked with accelerating creating innovation in Sweden—have initiated a national node, with the aim creating cutting edge research in cybersecurity. The node will also gather and strengthen Swedish cybersecurity expertise for research and innovation. Already, a new Cyber Range facility based in Kista, aimed at creating pen testing, education and cybersecurity competence, has started and is expected to grow in influence. “I think we need to build our digital sovereignty within the EU; we should have our own AWS,” says Cyber Range CEO Shahid Raza, advocating for strong EU security stance. Raza has high hopes for the EU forthcoming regulation on IT security – the Cyber Security Act. The law will take another two and a half to two years, but will create a standard for IT security within the Union. In the longer term, the node aims to strengthen Swedish competitiveness in a demanding international cyber security market, which is a necessity for a strong Swedish future industrial industry and exports in cybersecurity.

As such, including Clavister in such a node brings the company’s 20 years of expertise to the project and creates a dialogue to strengthen shared aims better security. “We’re excited at the prospect of making a contribution to this important endeavor. It’s exciting that our efforts at creating a dialogue around our Security By Sweden philosophy—one that believes where your security comes from does matter—is finding great partners like RISE and VINNOVA,” says Stefan Brodin, Commercial Solutions Manager at Clavister.

The project will be publicly launched on December 4th at an event which will announce the partners and the first initiatives the National Node will undertake.
